about the records I’ve been listening to, shows I’ve seen, and the unfinished thoughts about these that spin around my head
I began writing Homelovin’ in 1999 which makes 2009 its tenth anniversary.
WHAT THAT MEANS...I DON'T KNOW
after a long, inexcusable gap of three and a bit years, in June 2009 I finally, finally, FINALLY made a new issue!*

it
includes writing about
Kevin Rowland, Bruce Springsteen, the Replacements, the Music Tapes,
Robert Forster, Freddie
Mercury, American Music Club, Josh T. Pearson, an essay by Bunny Poe,
and a few more words and drawings by
me.
It hasn’t changed
much over the years:
folded sheets, stapled together, a sky blue cover, type-written.
Though this is the first issue I didn’t make in Lancaster:
I made it in Amsterdam on a different type-writer and instead of photo-copying
it it was stencil printed. It looks and feels really nice.
The reason it took so long, I’m not sure, but once I actually told myself – said out loud – “Quit stalling, Paul!” I worked fast and hard and it came happily and easily. (It used to be a bit stressful, gruelling making an issue when I was younger and wiser). And I really like this one a lot. I’m happy I made it. It is something old, something new and all Homelovin’.
I'm really looking forward to sharing it with readers. If you would like a copy it's €4+postage and you can pay through PayPal or bank transfer. For more details write to me at homelovinpaul@hotmail.com

(I sold two copies - I was terribly upset, feeling defeated, broken, thinking
"Why do I bother?" style thoughts - but it's okay, I'm over that blow
to my pride and I have since sold way more than 2
